Leyi 3810 Not Lego Star Wars Snowspeeder Set Review

While searching for X-wing bootleg lego on Ali Express last month, I happened to come across this Star Wars Snowspeeder knockoff.   It's made from a little known bootleg bricks company called Leyi.
The Star Series is their version of Star Wars and features about five or six different spaceships, some loosely based on Lego design, such as an X-wing fighter and others of their own designs.

There are 178 pieces to this set according to the skimpy two sided instruction sheet pictured below.

You get a sticker sheet for the snowspeeder which I've not yet applied.

It comes with a fairly generic figure with space suit and bike helmet.  The pilot's visor is a bright orange.

It's a tight squeeze for the pilot figure and the canopy just closes snugly on top of the pilot's  head if you lift both arms up.

The Leyi Snowspeeder model 3810 most closely resembles the Lego Snowspeeder set 4500, however this model does not have the rear winch.  Build-wise I would say this bootleg ship is closer to Lego's 7130 Snowspeeder set.

The front and rear canopies can be opened, but there isn't any other interior features to this ship. No seats or controls. Braking flaps move but are loose.

Only a pilot minifig, no gunner.

No interior.

The bricks are pretty inferior and have already started to yellow.  I'll probably chuck the crappy bricks and replace them with better ones.

Brand: Leyi

Model: 3810 Snowspeeder

Lepin 05001 Not Lego Rey's Speeder set review

I got my Lepin 05001 Rey's Speeder set today.  It's an almost exact bootleg of Lego's 75099 Rey's Speeder.

When I say almost, it's because the hairpiece for the Rey minifigure isn't the same as the original Lego set.   Also, this set doesn't come with a shoulder bag for Rey.   Other than those two differences, the brick colours and instructions are identical to Lego.

As is expected, this Lepin set comes together nicely.  You get 206 pieces (according to the box design), a sticker sheet and two sets of guns still on their plastic trees.  You get the Rey minifigure in Jakku desert garb, head scarf and staff.   As I mentioned earlier, she also comes with a hair piece but it's a long ponytail.  I guess the bootleggers decided that the new triple bun hairpiece wasn't worth producing.  Also, no shoulder bag either.

You get Unkar's thug minifigure with the set.  He comes with a crowbar.   Mine came with a missing hand, but luckily I have a lot of them so this was easily replaced.  The BB-8 minifigure pictured does not come with the set, but I thought including it would make the scene more relevant.  He's a bootleg minifigure from Dargo.

Who remembers the Lego Midi scale Star Destroyer 8099?  I parked it in the back of the shot as an homage to the movie scene.

The Lepin speeder has the same all the same features as the Lego version.  Side doors can be opened by twisting one of the engines either left or right to open the corresponding door.  There is a storage container that slides out.  It has the two projectile shooters with 8 extra red clear disks.  I guess you could store the projectiles inside the storage unit.

I won this set off ebay for a little over $7 USD.  Shipping was free.  These days, I find that if I win stuff off ebay for a really low price, the sellers won't ship the item, because they'd rather refund my money than sell something too cheaply.   At 7 bucks, I wasn't expecting this set to arrive.  Arrive, it did and in three weeks which is a lot faster than I expected.

Locally, the original Lego Rey's Speeder set costs $24.99 before taxes.

As always, thanks for visiting Its Not Lego and See you next time!

Hsanhe 6410-1 Not Lego Corner Coffee (Starbucks) Set Review

Look what just showed up!   These cool mini modular buildings are by chinese brick brand Hsanhe.  I don't even know how to pronounce Hsanhe, but I don't care, because these buildings are awesome. What's interesting is that these sets were originally proposed to Lego Ideas CUUSOO back in 2012, but were rejected by Lego.  Here's the link:  https://ideas.lego.com/projects/15229.

Today I will look at one of the sets called the Corner Coffee 6410-1.  The set proposed to Lego looked like this, with the Starbucks branded logos.

And here's the Hsanhe set.

The colour and bricks are identical, except for the logo.  It says Corner Coffee instead of Starbucks.  Note that I used a single brick tile in place of the stack of bricks for the logo.  Other than that the rest of the bricks came with the Hsanhe set.  There are roughly 190 pieces to this set, but you get another 20 random pieces after you finish building.

The original set proposed to Lego had a baseplate that was 16 studs wide by 8 studs deep.  The Hsanhe set is 10 studs deep.  At the front of the building, there is a fire hydrant, 2 tables, 2 umbrellas and 4 chairs.   Two floor to ceiling windows flank the central doorway.

The right side view shows the connection point that makes it a modular. All the rest of the buildings come with the connector hole and peg.  The building is 6 studs wide.  One thing I didn't care for was the fact that the baseplate is made up of 3 pieces, 2 16 x  2 plates and 1 16 x 6 plate.    In future I will replace the baseplate with a single piece, maybe 10 x 20.

Above is the left side view.

The rear of the building is open for access.  Spidey is sitting at the table savouring his grande drip. There is a counter and a small cash register near the entrance.  On the side wall is a table with cups and coffee maker.

Oh I forgot to mention that there are two pendant lights attached to the ceiling.

Here's the view from above.

And finally, here are the two minifigures that come with the Hsanhe set.  You get a guy who is wearing a green and white apron and a female with dark black hair.  Sorry, Spiderman doesn't come with this set.

Overall quality of the bricks is very good, and the glass plates are not too scratched.  You get a small sticker sheet for the store and cup logos.   These mini modular sets can be found on ebay for just over $10 USD and cheaper on Aliexpress, where I bought mine.

Brand: Hsanhe
Model: 6410-1 Corner Coffee mini modular
Pieces:  190 as per package description (but you get more)
Price:  I paid about $7 CDN each because I bought the set of six buildings from Aliexpress.

Recommend?  Yes.
